Q1. I am interested in registering as a housing developer under Brunei Darussalam Board of Housing Developers (BHD), what should I do?
A1. Registration under Brunei Darussalam Board of Housing Developers is open to any housing developers that has experiences in doing housing projects consisting of more than 4 units. Interested parties may fill in the registration form and submit the required supporting documents to Board Management Division counter during operating hours.
Q2. What kind of documents should I submit for the registration?
A2. The list of documents needed are as follows:
- Registration Form (BHD RL1)
- Copy of Owner / Owners Identity Card (IC)
- Copy of Certificate of Registration of Company
- Company Profile (Consisting of a brief overview of the company and housing development (more than 4 units) projects done over the years)
Q3. What benefits do I get from being a registered housing developer under BHD?
A3. At present, registration for housing developers under BHD is being done for administrative purposes, in which registered housing developers will be listed under BHD’s website for public reference.
Q4. Has licensing for housing development projects started yet under BHD?
A4. As of June 2026, licensing for housing development projects has not yet started. The commencement of the Housing Developers (Control and Licensing) Act, Cap 259 will be announced through relevant channels.
